COLOMBO, Sri Lanka- Sri Lanka's famous Lotus Tower will soon launch South Asia's first-ever bungee jump attraction. It will also be the tallest bungee jump from a tower in the world. The opening is planned for next year, marking a significant milestone for Sri Lanka's tourism sector and global adventure enthusiasts.
"This is more than just an attraction; it's a statement," said Shirantha Peries, Chairman of Lotus Tower. "We're establishing the tower as South Asia's top spot for culture, education, technology, adventure, and entertainment."
The announcement comes alongside impressive financial growth. As of August 2025, Lotus Tower reported a profit of Rs. 539 million, which is a 192% increase compared to Rs. 194 million in August 2024. This 373 million rupee year-on-year gain resulted from a 31% rise in revenue and a 77% boost in gross profit.

The bungee jump at Lotus Tower will be the tallest in the world from a tower. Different from bridge or cliff jumps, this tower-based experience will give participants sweeping views of Colombo and the Indian Ocean during the fall, making it a distinctive urban adventure.
The project includes close partnership between structural engineers and the technical team at Lotus Tower, supported by signed agreements for development.
This new attraction will significantly enhance Sri Lanka's adventure tourism sector, attracting travelers looking for adventurous honeymoon packages and unique holiday experiences. Local adventure tour companies are already developing packages that combine the bungee jump with other island activities.
Top travel agencies in Sri Lanka that focus on cultural tours are finding ways to blend this attraction with traditional Cultural Triangle itineraries. This will create vacation packages that mix ancient heritage with modern adventure.
This world-record attraction will appeal to a variety of visitors, from solo travelers to family groups. Luxury travel companies in Sri Lanka are considering how to include this in high-end tour packages, attracting tourists looking for exclusive experiences.
Wildlife tour operators in Sri Lanka are particularly interested in creating combination packages that offer both natural adventures and urban extreme sports. This approach will attract travelers seeking well-rounded adventure experiences during their time in Sri Lanka.
With high-tech experiences, cultural displays, and thrilling adventures, Lotus Tower is becoming a key destination in South Asia. It will soon be the only location where visitors can bungee jump from the tallest tower in the world.
This positions Sri Lanka as a strong competitor against nearby destinations and gives local tour companies a unique selling point for their luxury holiday packages.
