Sweden has lifted the travel restrictions on Sri Lanka

Sweden has lifted the travel restrictions on Sri Lanka considering the recent development of the previous political unrest in the country. There were long ques for fuel / gas and other essential foods with island wide demonstrations during last many months and now (31 Aug 2022) the situation is almost controlled and travelers who are planning to have their holiday / vacation in Sri Lanka can start planning your holiday itinerary in Sri Lanka. 

Sweden government said: “Due to the improved security situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs no longer advises against travel to Sri Lanka” with effect from 29th August 2022. Previously Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs advised against non-essential travel to Sri Lanka.
