Russia National Carrier Aeroflot has resumed flight operation non stope from Moscow to Colombo from 9th October onwards. Aeroflot will operate 2 flights per week Moscow Colombo. Aeroflot has ceased the operation after incident in Colombo few months ago by arresting Aeroflot flight in Colombo due to commercial courts order of Colombo. The case between a leasing company and the Aeroflot but the court order issued from Colombo and flight was suspended for few days. 

Another Russian carrier called Azur Air, to operate four charter flights a week starting from early November between Russia and Sri Lanka.
